Bringing the Skin Clinic Home

“Having too many products and cherry-picking from different ranges based on various buzz words will result in lots of unused and wasted products and possible irritations of the skin. Plus, they will not work as you aren’t consistent”.

Bringing the Skin Clinic Home Facial

Building your home facial routine is a fantastic way to improve and maintain your skin. The Art Derma Professional range can help you bring the skin clinic home!

What to consider when choosing your facial at home products.

Skin Type

Is your skin dry or oily?

Dry Skin

A dry skin produces fewer natural oils and has no visible pores, because of this the skin can appear dull and become rough, flaky, and sensitised. It can often feel tight, dehydrated, and has less elasticity.

A dry skin can easily become red and irritated and easily inflamed.

Oily Skin

An oily skin produces an excess of natural oils, the skin has a visible shine, it can feel greasy and those with oily skin tend to be prone to breakouts and congestion. Oily skin tends to have enlarged pores.

An oily skin can become suffocated and produce more breakouts and blackheads.

These are two of the skin types the third skin type is normal, this skin type has good moisture levels and does not over produce oil there is no visible oil or enlarged pores. But the skin does not feel dry or tight. Any other skin concerns are just that a skin concern. The products you choose must firstly be chosen for your type.

Skin Concerns

Once you understand your skin type you will be able to make informed choices with regards to choosing daily products. The product can then be chosen for the skin type and any other concerns you may have such as pigmentation, breakout’s, wrinkles, sensitive skin, acne, rosacea.

Lifestyle

Consider your lifestyle, your skin routine needs to be able to fit in with your day to day. If you are busy person then a seven-step routine isn’t going to be for you and your products will sit on the shelf expiring and become unusable and ineffective. If you work indoors in air conditioning your skin can become dehydrated this can then cause flaking in those with a dry skin and spots with those who have an oily skin. Do you work outdoors or are your hobbies outdoors are you using a SPF daily moisturiser 365 days a year? Do you have pigmentation and redness issues from extreme weather conditions? Choose your products around your lifestyle and specific skin concerns.

“Having too many products and cherry-picking from different ranges based on various buzz words will result in lots of unused and wasted products and possible irritations of the skin. Plus, they will not work as you aren’t consistent”.

What do I really need?

Three steps to success with choosing from the Art Derma range.

Start simple, simplicity is key.

The range of products have been designed to use professionally and therefore have high quantities of active ingredients such as acids, retinoids, vitamins, and peptides. These products will make a dramatic change to your skin and its function within a short period of time.

Due to the formulations, it is recommended to always start with the rule of three.

·     Cleanser

·     Day cream

·     Night cream

Changing over products from a basic range to a professional range can cause unwanted side effects to occur, in the first 7-30 days. The skin can become dry and slightly irritated, this will subside as the barrier function of the skin improves and as the skin becomes used to the change. This is more likely to occur in a dry skin type as dry skin products off the shelf have excessively high oil content. As the art derma wash begins to remove this occlusive layer it can cause sensitivity until it resolves itself.

The skin does need daily care and maintenance. A three-step routine that works for you can achieve the results you have been looking for.

Three products may sound strange to those suffering with specific skin concerns such as acne as you probably own a multitude of products full of the latest and greatest ingredients for your concern, but still, you don’t seem to be getting the results you desire.

Art Derma range is different the products are multifunctional – meaning they target more than one skin concern and in some cases are safe for all skin types and concerns. However, the difference with what a dry skin needs in comparison to an oily skin means it’s just not always possible to suit all skins.

The cleansers – Step 1

Alpha Wash

The alpha of the group your first step to treating your skin with a wash. The Alpha Wash is more than a wash it’s a treatment in a bottle.
